1 - CHARACTERISTICS AND INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE:
In order to obtain better quality and aesthetic results when applying the POLISTOF paints follow the instructions below.
Apply the ARES primer (special primer for POLISTOF cycle) with a brush or air-gun over the whole surface, avoiding the formation of lumps. After the ARES primer has dried completely (12/24 hrs), apply POLISTOF using a special KIT 40 brush or with an air-gun. While applying with a brush, spread the product uniformly in order to avoid the formation of lumps on the surface. After 6 to 8 hours, when the POLISTOF has dried, apply the second coat in the same way. The POLISTOF paints can be used on any type of surface such as wood, plaster, plasterboard, iron, light alloys etc. after it has been suitably prepared. When painting with POLISTOF, it is recommended to apply several criss-cross layers and to complete the procedure for each surface without interruptions once it has been commenced.
2 - New walls. The surface should be dry and very smooth, without any alkaline substances. If it is not, plaster it with Valstuc and smooth down using 280 grade sandpaper. Next apply the ARES primer and the POLISTOF as indicated in Point 1.
3 - Old walls. Sandpaper the surface, remove badly adhering old paint and dust. If necessary, plaster with Valstuc, apply the ARES primer and the POLISTOF as indicated in Point 1.
4 - New wood. Apply the first coat of the ARES primer, plaster with Valstuc, smooth down with 280 grade sandpaper. Then apply the second coat of the ARES primer and follow with the POLISTOF paint as indicated in Point 1.
5 - Old wood and iron (previously painted). Smooth down with 280/300 grade sandpaper to facilitate adhesion then apply the ARES primer and the POLISTOF as indicated in Point 1. 6 - New iron. Sand, remove all grease and apply one coat of the WIKTOR water-based antioxidant. Proceed with the ARES primer and then the POLISTOF as indicated in Point 1.
7 - Light alloys. Remove grease, sand well to facilitate adhesion. Apply one coat of primer which is suited to the type of surface. Then apply the ARES primer and the POLISTOF paint as indicated in Point 1.
If the POLISTOF paints are to be applied with an air-gun, the product must be diluted with approximately 5% water. Use the upper position of the nozzle, with the 2.5mm nozzle mouth, at a pressure of 3/5 atm. Keep the air-gun at the distance of 30 - 50 cm from the painted surface. Apply the first coat of the POLISTOF horizontally and after 6/8 hours, when the paint has dried, apply the second coat vertically, obtaining in this way a uniform colour of the surface.
If the POLISTOF paints are to be applied with a brush, in order to achieve better final results it is recommended that the Kit 40 brushes are used.
8 - Protective. It is recommended that one or two coats of the water-based acrylic protective paint FINISH V 16 are used on those surfaces (wood, iron, glass, light alloys) which are handled or touched often, e.g. furniture, doors, etc. When protected with FINISH V 16, surfaces can be washed with water and common detergents.
